This close-up view shows the ladder hung against the plank wall. The ladder provides access to the attic loft area. Looking at the walkway, one can more clearly see that a post occurs to support the roof along the walkway edge. The post appears to align with the plane of the plank wall. Along the ridge, boughs are present to stablize the straw roofing material; similar pieces are present on the opposite slope. (photo 1988)
