When viewed from this angle, the open stair is obscured behind plantings. The lower extended base timber of the interlocking plank can be seen; this also serves a the base for the trellis post that sits away from the side wall. The horizontal members of the trellis serves as a place to hang produce under the eaves for drying. A separate row of poles serve to support climbing plants. (photo 1988)
