Katića Kuća from garden
Trstenik, Serbia
Trstenik is a town on the West Morava River, east of Kraljevo, and this handsome two-story house is near the center. It was built for Petra Katić, a successful tradesman, in the second half of the 19th century. The lower level includes the kitchen and dining rooms and a large cellar, while above are the principal living rooms. On the garden side, the house opens to the exterior, with two projecting doksats as siting areas. A stair within the connecting trem (gallery) joins the two floors.
