Konak viewed from Porch (trem) of church
Poganovo, Serbia
While the church at Poganovo Monastery dates from the 14th century, the surrounding structures including the church entry porch are 19th century additions, perhaps related to earlier designs. The wall that surrounds the porch is bounded by a masonry base that creates seating on the interior, with a bondruk-and-falsework arcade above. Through its openings one can observe the wooden gallery and stair of the nearby konak, home to the priest and followers who once occupied the monastery.
