The stairs from the ground level bring one to this space with these large openings to the south. To the right is the stair to the uppermost level and to the left a small room; there are two additional larger rooms to the north. The openings have wooden beams to aid in supporting elements of the trilobite arches. Exposed timber members support the floor of the level above.
