Manastir Sv. Arhangel Mihailo, Konak from entry path
Varoš, Macedonia
The monastery residences were built in the mid-nineteenth century by craftsmen from Prilep, who left guild inscriptions in the dormitory rooms. The western konak is pictured here, its long elevation facing the broad valley below. The central open-air chardak with projecting minsofa is the main gathering space in fine weather and circulation space to reach the rooms along the chardak year-round.
