Ohrid, Macedonia
The main street of the Old Town runs parallel with the shore of Lake Orhid and is lined with traditional dwellings dating mainly from the 19th century. The houses have masonry ground floors and lighter frame construction for the floors above. The Robevi Family House is shown below the outline of Bulgarian Tsar Samuil's 10th century fortress which dominates the Old Town. Ohrid, with its numerous Byzantine churches and extraordinary lake, is a UNESCO Cultural and Natural World Heritage Site.
