Sveti Jovan Bigorski drawings
Radika River, Macedonia
These drawings were developed from copies of a series of survey drawings received from the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments in Skopje. The exterior walls of the complex are constructed of thick masonry to provide stability on the sloped site and to carry the loads of the upper levels. The long axis of the courtyard opens the galleries to receive sun during the daylight hours. The relationship of the konak and galleries to the church allows occupants to view the church as a focal point during their daily travels within the complex.
