Stone stables and barns
Vrontero, Greece
These buildings show traditional outbuilding construction of this lake region: walls of local stone with intervals of horizontal timber reinforcement, and roofs framed with wooden poles and clad with straw thatch. They appear to typically follow the contours of the land with no effort to create level settings for the buildings themselves. (photo 2004)
