The older structures in the background are typical for this lake district: long low profiles, stone masonry walls, thatched roofs. In the foreground are structures showing roof upgrading, a light wood-framed porch addition, and uses of painted metal for roof and wall cladding. These structures are currently used to house livestock who graze on the adjacent pastures and to store equipment. (photo 2004)
