Dwelling on Dim. Poliorkitou odos, from below

A closer look at the dwelling on Dimitrios Poliorkitis street reveals the southwest elevation facing the sea beyond. The large shuttered windows provide protection from the hot midday sun while allowing the sea breezes to enter. The upper levels have projecting oriel windows (σαχνισι [sahnisi]) on the southeast elevation that have varied supporting bracket expressions. The doorway just above the small cafe leads to a garden that is part of the original property. (photo 2004)
