Traditional Dwelling of Upper City, Dim. Poliorkitou odos
Thessaloniki, Greece
This traditional dwelling has survived many renovations and modifications. The building was noted in the "Special Conditions for Building in the Upper City of Thessaloniki" published by Dr. Nikos Moutsopoulos in 1979. The studies led to regulations to preserve the urban fabric and character of the upper city (ανω πoλισ). The three story structure has commercial space on the ground level and dwelling space above, oriented to take advantage of the views and sea breezes to the south.
