Roženski manastir (Rožen monastery), view through entry gate

Entry to the monastery is by way of a gated, arched portal, through which one can see portions of the residential buildings. A masonry water fountain offers refreshment, and covered wood-framed arcades provide circulation around the perimeter buildings. Behind the fountain, on the ground level are rooms where wine making occurred. An open stair leads to the upper level of the gallery, and a projecting porch overlooks the entry courtyard and the small church to the right of this view.
