Kăštata na Panajot Muskoyanin (House of Panayot Muskoyanin)
Nesebăr (Nessebur), Bulgaria
This house is located on the southern coastline of the Old Town, facing the Black Sea. Built in 1849, it belonged to a family involved in fishing and its ground level consists mainly of work spaces. The street elevation has few openings, with entry by way of a wooden portal opening to a narrow courtyard with balcony above. Two whitewashed chimneys project above the masonry ground floor, supported by angled brackets tied to the lower wall. This well-preserved house is currently an ethnographic museum. (photo 2000)
