Čardaklija view from entry corner

The čardaklija entry elevation reveals the cantilever of the upper level over the timber framed ground level. The lower wooden trim piece of the upper level contains decorative scalloping that has a number of missing scallops. The two entry doors provide separate entries to the ground level and the upper level by way of an interior stair. The ground level interior provides space to store tools, provisions, and animals and the upper level provides living spaces for the owner and family. (photo 1988)
