Traditional dwelling (kuća) from village street
Mali Iđos, Vojvodina
Mali Iđos is a village in the North Bačka District of southern Vojvodina. Throughout this district, villages were structured with a repeating pattern of houses and farmyards (as ordered by the Austrian authorities in the late 18th century), with fields located outside of town. The gable end of each house traditionally faced the street while its long, accessible side, typically with a covered gallery, faced an enclosed yard. This house shows that pattern and also typical construction: masonry walls with timber framed roof.
