Landscape with çardak above the road
Üzümdere, Turkey
Üzümdere is a small village of farmers and herders in the Ibradı district of Antalya province in the Bey Daǧları range of the Taurus montains. The village is within the Üzümdere Milli Parkı (Üzümdere National Park) and Wildlife Reserve. The steep landscape falls to the Manavgat River that flows to the Mediterranean Sea. Small wooden çardaci (chardaks) are present in garden plots to oversee the terraced planted gardens and vineyards, that take advantage of the sun, and serve as places for repose. The Manavgat River has numerous trout farms and rapids.
