Macun Ağasi İzzet Efendi evi

The Macun Ağasi İzzet Efendi şehir evi was constructed at the end of the 19th century and contains decorative painting dated to the beginning of the 20th century. The dwelling is located in the Çeşme mahalla on Karaüzüm sokak. The courtyard entry occurs at the bottom right. The courtyard is to the south of the dwelling and the foliage conceals two sections of the building elevation that also have paintings above the windows. The windows on the upper level provide light and views to the hammam (public bath) and Eski Cami (Eski mosque) to the south. (photo 1994)
