This dwelling's simple frame and clapboard portion made it a special place. The interlocking wooden elements on the reinforcing courses project out to catch the high midday's sun and create individual shadows. The edge of the çardak's platform is in the shadow created by the panels that form the seat along this edge of the çardak. The stairs to the upper level are beyond the eaves of the roof but the outer support of the landing extends up to define the çardak's volume and allow for the addition of a temporary cover.
