Historic houses,
Muradiye mahalle
Bursa, Turkey
This view on Prf. Dr. Halil İnalcık Sokak includes a row of three traditional houses in various conditions. The houses overlook the Muradiye külliye (complex dedicated to Sultan Murad II), built in the 15th century, which is the largest in Bursa and a UNESCO Heritage site. The corner building has a shop with dwelling above which projects on both sides, supported on wooden brackets. Beyond, are buildings subdivided by areas of color and stepped projecting bays, suggesting two adjacent dwellings, and beyond the restored outer wall of a historic Ottoman museum house. (photo 1994)
