Mountain Summer Pasture
Velika Planina, Slovenia
Velika Planina (high pasture) is a broad folded plateau located in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps that are south of the Karavanke Alps in northern Slovenia. The plateau is within the municipality of Kamnik. The pastures and settlements have been used for centuries and the area has been designated a heritage site to control development. The earliest remaining huts are said to date back to the 16th century.
