Wooden Kašča with large loft
Kamnik, Slovenia
These two single-cell granaries, along with those preceding and following, were relocated from farms in the Tuhinj Valley, to the east of Kamnik, to the open-air Ethnological Collection of the Medobčinski Muzej Kamnik, between 1968 and 1973. They vary in configuration but share similarities in materials and construction techniques. The granary in the foreground of this photograph dates from the 19th century, and incorporates a large roof volume with separate opening.
