Traditional Wooden Dwelling
Dolenjci, Slovenia
This wooden plank building with a straw roof is located in Dolenjci in the Bela Krajina region near the town of Črnomelj. The building was built in the second half of the 19th century using planks that are interlocked together at crossing joints and doweled connections along the lengths of the planks for stability. The joints are packed and coated to provide more protection from the infiltration of air and precipitation.
