Traditional dwellings and corncrib structure
Vratarnica, Serbia
These dwellings each have basements of stone that were used as root cellars and to house equipment and small livestock. The upper levels were constructed of bondruk. The entry porches of the two dwellings face one another. The darker wooden structure on the left provides cover for the storage of straw and equipment under the wooden corncrib (koš) that occurs above.
