Matića kuća and crkva brvnara (wooden church)
Vranić, Serbia
Beyond the house is the 1823 Church of the Holy 40 Martyrs of Sebasteia, built of hewn oak logs. The Matić house is considered to date from the early nineteenth century, and was relocated to the church site from another part of Vranić. In plan the house is typical of Šumadija, while in bondruk construction related to the Morava River Basin type. The overhanging roof protects the plastered wall surfaces and is supported by wooden brackets, a detail common in Šumadija.
