Konak at Manastir Rudare, view from south
Rudare, Serbia
This 18th-century monastic dwelling provided communal spaces for full-time residents and visitors, with a generous two-level semi-enclosed porch (doksat or čardak) facing the churchyard. At the upper floor, the doksat opens to a large central hall, which is in turn open to the west as seen in the previous photograph, thus connected through its core to the Veternica River valley.
