Konak at Manastir Rudare, view from west
Rudare, Serbia
The monastery, in the village of Rudare, is within the muncipality of Leskovac in southern Serbia. The current church, dedicated to Saint Paraskevi (Sveta Petka of Rome), konak and graveyard date back to the late 18th century. Records indicate that an earlier church dating back to the 6th century may have existed on the same foundations. The current church, in the background, is stone and the konak is constructed of rubble stone and masonry on the ground level and timber with wattle and daub (bondruk) on the upper level. The konak has a plaster coating.
