Crkva brvnara (wooden church)
Dub, Serbia
Dub is a village in the Zlatibor District of western Serbia in the muncipality of Bajina Bašta on the Drina River. The church, dedicated to the Ascension of Christ, dates from 1792. It was constructed by Serbian carpenter builders from the adjacent Osat region in Bosnia. These craftsmen were recognized for their architectural skills, techniques and carvings and traveled throughout the Dinaric Alps and further east. Many historians recognize these Osaćanska (or Osećani) master builders and refer to these wooden buildings as Osaćanska structures.
