Podrum Structure, upper entry
Atenica, Serbia
The upper level entry, protected by the broad overhanging roof and extended planks of the vaulting, provides easy access for the workers. The entry wall remains vertical until it is above the doorway then slopes gently to meet the high point of the vaulted form. A flat soffit above the entry occurs above the bracket. The roof framing beam rests on the single bracket and the extension of the plank barrel vaulted walls. (photo 1988)
