Biserica Dragomireşti
Maramureş, Maramureş County
Dragomireşti, Romania
This church from Dragomireşti was built in 1722 and transported to the Village Museum in Bucharest in 1936. The hall type church, rectangular in plan, has a five-sided apse, a striking double-tiered roof, and a bell-tower with tall narrow spire, forms typical of the Northern Carpathians. The body of the church is built of horizontal notched spruce logs. The interior has an iconostasis, icon paintings and inscriptions in both Cyrillic and Latin alphabets.
