Built in 1773, this wooden church from northeastern Romania is one of the oldest structures brought to the Village Museum in Bucharest. A deeply shadowed entrance porch (pridvor) with bell tower project from the body of the church, a rectangle with polygonal ends below a steeply pitched, pine-shingled roof. The church is constructed of thick horizontal wood planks set on edge and interlocked at the corners.
