Kula Redžepagića Entry
Plav, Montenegro
The kula is located in a residential enclave near the old bazaar of Plav, a town in northeastern Montenegro, bordering Albania and Kosovo. The fortified dwelling was part of a compound and erected in the late 16th or early 17th century; it is thought to be one of the earliest structures in the town. The kula was designated as a cultural monument and restored in the 1980s. The masonry was provided with reinforcing within and wooden structure and other wooden elements were repaired or replaced. The roof was rebuilt using wooden shingles (shindra) that are used throughout the Dinaric Alps. (photo 1988)
