Mesdžid-vakufska kuća
Ivangrad (Berane), Montenegro
Ivangrad is a name given to Berane during the period after WWII, it is again Berane and is within the municipal district of Berane in the northeast region of Montenegro. The Mesdžid-vakufska kuća was an important structure constructed in the 1880s by Ahmed-hamdi Pasha for the use of the Islamic community. The pasha's endowment (vakuf) included a public fountain located at the lower level within the framed recess, and the building with a prayer space in a room above. The arched wooden braces gave special architectural expression to the structure.
