Traditional farm compound
Aluga, Montenegro
Aluga is a small village in the Durmitor mountain region of Montenegro. The village sits on the border between the Pljevlja and the Žabljak municipalities in northwest Montenegro. The farm structures are constructed of stone and wood with steep roofs to shed the heavy snows of the region. The roof surfaces are wooden shingles or planks with hips and a narrow gable just below the ridge member.
