Manastir Sv. Arhangel Mihailo, Konak entry from church
Varoš, Macedonia
A narrow courtyard provides entry to the church and two flanking konaks. Stonework forms lower floors of the konak, with stone and wood frame and infill above. Thick stone walls are used on the upper levels against the mountain face and where rear access might occur. White plasterwork and wood-framed openings contrast with the earth colors of the building masonry and rocky surroundings.
