Arabati Baba Teќe courtyard
Mausoleum, open structure, and kula
Tetovo, Macedonia
Some structures are built against the wall that surrounds the teќe, as seen in this view. The building to the left is a mausoleum containing several graves of past babas; its porch was a place where the Baba would meet teќe visitors. Opposite is the entrance porch of the mesdjid, a building for performing rituals. Beyond is the north entrance to the teќe, and a kula (tower structure), beyond but built into the perimeter stone wall. (photo 1988)
