Konak at Manastir Sveti Pantelejmon

Gorno Nerezi, Macedonia
Located on the slopes of Mount Vodno that rises above Skopje to the west, Nerezi Monastery houses a Byzantine church dedicated to Saint Panteleimon (12th century). The grounds have been converted for tourism, and one konak (residence) was used as a small hotel at the time of our visit in 1991. Its large wooden chardak offers fine views of Skopje.
