Štrpce (Shtërpcë), Kosovo
Štrpce (Shtërpcë) is a village incorporating outlying settlements on the northern side of the Šar Planina mountains that form part of the border with F.Y.R.O. Macedonia. The village dwellings have similarities with those of Macedonia and parts of Greece. The structures are constructed using stone, brick, and timber with a plaster coating on the dwellings. The open gallery (čardak) on the upper floor provides access to living and sleeping rooms behind.
