Čardak minsofa
Prizren, Kosovo
The raised platform (minsofa) that projects outward from the čardak is a sitting area carpeted with kilims, intended as a garden overlook. At the time of our visit the latticed openings had been glazed and covered with sheer curtains, but were originally open to the outdoors, the grilles giving a degree of privacy for the household's women who sit in the minsofa.
