Peć (Peja), Kosovo
The Kula Jašar Pašina constructed in the late 19th century held a prominent place in the old town. Peć (Peja or Pejë in Albanian), close to Montenegro border on the western edge of Kosovo, has been occupied since Roman times, was the center of the Serbian Orthodox Church for over four hundred year until the mid-18th century, and seat of an important sanjak during Ottoman times. The main elevation of the kula faces southwest and overlooks the Pećka Bistrica river. The large living and meeeting room on the top level were used to entertain guests.
