Emmanouil Brothers Mansion from narrow street
Kastoria, Greece
This mansion, in the Dolco (Doltso) neighborhood of the city, was constructed in the late 18th century. A projecting upper-level sitting room on angular braces is an honorific space with multiple windows giving the best view of street or garden. The room (sachnisi, ondas, or iliakos) functions as a solarium for the patriarch of the family. In one book a similar view designates this building as the Nantzis Mansion but it does not to conform to plans of the mansion.
