Wooden Dwelling (hiža) and barn (ambar)
Kumrovec, Croatia
This Staro Selo house (object 22) belonged to the village blacksmith, and was built using horizontal planks with plaster coating, similar to other ethnopark dwellings. It has a full basement accessible for storage and a roof extension providing covered outdoor workspace at the far end. Its roof is clad with shingles. The window shutters incorporate glazed panels to admit light to the interior when closed during colder seasons.
