The čardak (meeting and working place), has an elevated sofa (sitting area) that is well lit and ventilated. The traditional wooden grills have exterior shutters to protect the space from inclement weather. The furnishings show the traditional use of such a space with a low table set at the proper height for those sitting on the floor. The columns and paneling have been shaped and edged and the high shelving provides storage for plates and other objects used in the space.
