Traditional Shop in Village
Žeravna, Bulgaria
In the oldest part of town there are numerous wooden structures where one finds interesting framing with lumber infill and battens. The ground level spaces serve as shops. The projecting roof extends with shaped bracket supports to protect both the upper and ground level walls from rain and sun. The raised wooden sill protects the wooden frame, except at the door between the buildings where they are are separated by a narrow passage.
