Street view in Old Town,
Ulica Kiril Nektariev
Plovdiv, Bulgaria
Plovdiv has a history that extends over five thousand years and is considered one of the oldest cities in Europe; as part of Thrace it became one of the conquest sites of the Romans as well as a part of the Ottoman Empire much later. The surviving dwellings in the Old Town were constructed in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries during the late revival period. The area is a destination for visitors to the city since a number of these dwellings have been restored and become museums. The gateway opens to a courtyard that holds a hotel and restaurant.
