Dwelling with projecting elements
Nesebăr (Nessebur), Bulgaria
The streets of the Old Town are paved with stone similar to the masonry of the ground floor and courtyard walls of traditional buildings. In this dwelling the masonry extends to the side wall of the second floor, while wood construction is used for the street-facing walls and bay elements of interior rooms. Windows are inserted into the gaps between wood posts, otherwise filled with horizontal clapboards. The clay-tiled roof projects outward to protect the walls.
