The recessed doorway in the stone wall provides entry to the large storage area, stalls, and a number of interconnected interior spaces. The plaster coated wall on the upper level highlights the summer living room while the exposed stud and planking wall encloses the former merchant-owner's office space adjacent to the living space. The extended roof continues along this northern elevation of the dwelling.
