Dwelling along Bregava in town center
Stolac, Herzegovina
This house displays characteristics of Ottoman houses in Herzegovina, in its use of stone as a primary material for walls and roofing, considered to be a Mediterranean influence. Wooden braces support eaves burdened by heavy stone slabs, and wood is used to structure floors and roof, as well as to frame upper level projecting bays, like that beyond the entrance portal.
