Hadži-Šabanovića kuća

The Hadži-Šabanovića kuca is a complex of buildings dating from the 18th century within an old mahala (neighborhood) on Očaktanum Ulica (formerly Kozaračka Ulica 3). The complex contains an entry courtyard (selamluk) with stair access to men's living areas above, a doorway into the women's courtyard (haremluk) with kitchen and living spaces on the ground level and stairways to a divanhana, čardaks, and a tower space above. Beyond the women's courtyard (to the southwest) is an orchard that gives access to storage spaces in the foundation of the building. (photo 2008)
