Multi-family traditional dwelling
Nišići, Bosnia
Nišići is a village in the municipality of Ilijaš, north of Sarajevo, and a place with several large houses similar to, but much larger than, the lower example of research sketches in this sequence. With two large floors, as well as an attic, the long rectangle of the house appears to contain multiple rooms, each likely inhabited by a subset of an extended, probably Muslim, family clan. The construction appears to be primarily of wood, with a stucco-like coating, on a masonry foundation (with cellar). In poor condition, the dwelling was nonetheless inhabited when we visited.
